Udayan Mane is all set to make his mark in Tokyo Olympics

How often do you hear that a golfer has won 3 sequent professional tour titles? It sounds like a dream, but it’s not a dream, it’s a reality, and Udayan Mane is the star of that reality.

The back-to-back superb performances from Udayan calling him to represent the country in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and with a classic win at the Players Championship, Mane, just behind Rashid Khan, to be the 2nd Indian golfer to claims the opportunity to settle in the top-60 golfers ranking heading to Japan in July to play at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

When all are eyeing to witness the like of Shubhankar or Anirban Lahiri in the list, Mane comes out of syllabus to find a place in the Olympic rankings, which really reflects his prominence in the Indian golf, which he has achieved in the last few months.

The success story starts from the Golmuri Golf Course, Jamshedpur, where the 2019 PGTI’s last event, the Tour Championship held, in which Udayan emerges as a winner after an impactful 26-under-262, and claims the whopping amount of Rs.22,50,000 to finish 3rd in the 2019 PGTI Order of Merit list.

The second win comes at Golconda Masters, which earned him his ninth professional victory on the PGTI tour, where he fired 17-under-267 to make it back-to-back titles on the PGTI tour.

Mane continued his hot early season form on the Players Championship as well, where he strokes a blissful last round of 6-under-66 to be tied at the top with Veer Ahlawat with a total of 20-under-268. Then the two giants of Indian Golf faced each-other in the playoff, where Mane proves his metal to bag his 3rd consecutive and overall 10th professional title.

Players Championship victory makes him only the second golfer behind Ashok Kumar (Delhi) to have won three consecutive events on the PGTI tour.

After registering splendid wins in the past three months, Mane is currently ranked 1st in the 2020 PGTI Order of Merit list, and as far as the OWGR is concerned, he climbs big from 303 to 241 position courtesy Players Championship win.
