Top 3 Players to watch at the 2019 Hero Women's Indian Open

All players have a unique quality to conquer the game, But here we are discussing the top 3 Indian Women golfers to watch out for in the Hero Women’s Indian Open which will be played at the DLF Golf and Country Club, Gurugram from October 3 to 6 2019.

1. Aditi Ashok

The young golfer from Bengaluru, Aditi Ashok has impressed all with her superb game technique in the past and now she is all geared up to conquer the big tournament with her positive intent.

Aditi carries the much-needed momentum with her of performing well on the big stage as she finishes at a tied-8th position in the Mediterranean Open golf tournament last week. Also, she was the best Indian at the Lacoste Ladies Open de France and finished her campaign at the Tied-26th position, last month at the Golf du Médoc, Chateaux Course.

The 21-year-old Aditi is the last and the only Indian, who has won the Hero Women’s Indian Open in 2016. And considering her current form, we can assume that this year she can repeat her success of 2016 HWIO and claims the trophy with a handful of €300,000 prize money.

2. Diksha Dagar 

The 18-year-old Diksha emerged as the only Indian winner this season when she grabbed the Investec South African Open. She also has a Top-10 and three other Top-20 finishes this year.

Diksha, who suffered from a complete hearing impairment for first six years of her life, is currently ranked 15th on the LET Order of Merit with 191.11 points, and second on the Rookie list, with a win and a Top 10 finish — T5th at the NSW Open — under her belt this season. 

After playing the last three years as an amateur, Diksha is finally playing her first Hero Women’s Indian Open as a professional. She is playing exceptionally well from the past one year and who knows the young and talented Diksha writes the glory by winning the Hero Women's Indian Open 2019.

3. Tvesa Malik

After a spectacular win at the 13th Leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour last Friday. Tvesa Malik is all set for the Hero Women’s Indian Open.

The national Open has played a part in Malik’s recent success in the game. She emerged as the best Indian golfer at the event and finished at Tied-13th with another Indian Gaurika Bishnoi at the $500,000 event last year, and soon after, she secured her maiden card on the LET through qualifying school.

Also, this year has been a memorable one, as in each of the first three legs she finished inside the top-3. She was tied-third at Kalhaar Blues & Greens Ahmedabad, joint-second at BPGC Mumbai and a third at Poona Club Golf Course last week.

As far as Tvesa’s performance is concerned in the HWIO, we’re assuming her as a prime contender at the tournament which begins at the DLF course this Thursday.

There are 22 Indians taking part in the tournament, comprising six amateurs, and we have high hopes from them as they were playing in their home soil, and with better technique and temperament they can claim the Hero Women’s Indian Open 2019.

Apart from the Indian golfers, some other players are hopeful of making their presence felt. From the Defending Champion Becky Morgan to 2017 winner Camille Chevalier and other leading names like Carly Booth, Beth Allen, and Solheim Cup 2019 winning team Europe’s Captain Catriona Matthew.

These golfers had a deep impact on the tournament in the past and this time too they can make the competition tough and interesting with their solid game.
