Khushi Khanijau edges out Seher Atwal to win maiden WPGT title

Khushi Khanijau won the 15th leg of Hero WPGT after carding a moderate even-par 72 in the final round at the historic Royal Calcutta Golf Club, Kolkata.

The Jaipur-based Khushi, who started her campaign with a dreadful 84, rallied with a 74 on day two, and with an even-par 72 on day three, she edged out the overnight leader Seher Atwal to claim her first WPGT title.

First-two round leaders Seher Atwal lost her momentum in the final round and shot 8-over 80 to finish at tied-second at the WPGT’s season-ending event.

Shweta Mansingh, who was at the solo second position before the commencement of the final round, shot 6-over 78 to end her run at tied-second alongwith Seher and amateur Smriti Bhargav.

Amandeep Drall won the 2020-21 Order of Merit title with a total season prize pool of 16,50,750 despite not playing for the previous two weeks.

The veteran Vani Kapoor ended at second with 14,74,550 prize money.

While the four-time winner of the 2020-21 season, Jahanvi Bakshi claimed the third spot with a handful of 13,32,733 earnings.
