Jahanvi Bakshi takes first-round lead in second leg of Hero WPGT

Jahanvi Bakshi posted a spectacular 4-under 68 in the opening round to grab a one-shot lead at the second leg of Hero WPGT.

The 4-time WPGT winner, who was one of most impactful female golfers last year, had an enjoyable first round in which she smashed six birdies against two bogeys at the East Point Golf Club, Visakhapatnam.

Ridhima Dilawari also not too far from Jahanvi as with a score of 3-under 69, Dilawari was just one shot back heading into the second round.

Ridhima, who started her round from the tenth tee alongside Sneha Singh and Riya Yadav, mixed five birdies with two bogeys to sit at the solo second spot.

The first bogey she witnessed was on the 406 yards par-4 18th hole, and the second on 480 yards par-5 first hole.

Amateur Sneha Singh, who finished last week’s event at tied-3rd, shot a decent 2-under 70 to sit behind Jahanvi and Ridhima at third position.

Three golfers including, Seher Atwal, the niece of veteran Indian golfer Arjun Atwal, were tied-5th at even-par 72.

Leg-01 winner Pranavi Urs had a rough day at work as she shot 3-over 75 to be placed tied-12th at the INR 10,00,000 prize money event.

In the field of 30 golfers, only two golfers, Oviya Reddy and Vidharti Urs claimed the honour of shotting eagles (2-under par), both shot 1-1 eagle.
