The 23-year-old Olympic gold medallist Nelly Korda played superbly throughout the tournament and was leading by two shots till 16th hole on the final day but made a blunder on the 17th hole and shot a triple bogey at par-4 17th, allowing her competitor Lexi Thompson to grab two-stroke lead.

But Thompson squandered the opportunity and bogeyed the final hole to join Lydia Ko, Sei Young Kim, and Nelly Korda in the playoff.

Korda then birdied the first extra hole to secure her seventh Ladies Professional Tour title at the $1,750,000 prize money event.

Brooke M Henderson of Canada also made her presence felt in the last round with a score of 65 to finish solo at 14-under 266.
