Tvesa Malik emerges as best Indian in Switzerland with T-11 finish at Swiss Ladies Open

Tvesa Malik emerged as the best Indian golfer in Switzerland after carding 4-under in the final round to finish her Swiss Ladies Open campaign at the tied-11th position.

Malik, who scored an even better six-under in the second round, shot an eagle on the 10th hole with three birdies and two bogeys in her 18-hole play on the final day to end the star-studded event at a creditable place.

She made one eagle, fourteen birdies, five bogeys and one double bogey to end her journey with a total score of 9-under 207.

Atthaya Thitikul of Thailand grabbed the Swiss Ladies Open title after beating Norland’s Marianne Skarpnord by a single shot in a nail-biting final round.

The four-time LET champion Atthaya Thitikul carded 16-under 200 in the 54-hole event to win her 10th professional title.

The other Indians playing at the Ladies Open include the 2020 Tokyo Olympian Aditi Ashok and WGAI regular Vani Kapoor, Gaurika Bishnoi and three more.

Aditi Ashok, who was the best-placed Indian at the 28th spot after the first round, shot under-par 69 on Saturday and then a 1-under 71 on Sunday to finish at tied-20th position.

Vani Kapoor finished tied-29th after a spectacular 5-under 67 in the final round, while Gaurika, who was competing in her maiden Ladies European Tour event, finished tied-35th.

The other three, Amandeep Drall, Ridhima Dilawari, and Astha Madan, were eliminated early from the event following a disappointing performance.
