Swiss Ladies Open: Tvesa Malik fails to make the cut in Switzerland

The star Indian golfer Tvesa Malik, who had a steady round 1, loses momentum to miss the cut in Swiss Open.

Malik, who had said the course was tricky after the first day, did not recover from the front nine reverses as she had two bogeys and a double bogey.

On the back nine, she had one more bogey on 14th and had no birdies throughout the day.

Dagar on the other hand, had another off-day, adding 80 to her first-round 87 to exit early.

Overnight leader Sanna Nuutinen continued her quest to add a second Swiss trophy to her collection, carding a second round of 68 (-4) to her opening effort of 66 (-6) to take a one-shot lead heading into the final round.

Leading by one from Welshwoman Amy Boulden and Morocco’s Maha Haddioui, the three-time LETAS winner Nuutinen is playing some of the most consistent golf of her career right now.

It was her eighth straight under-par round, with seven of those falling in the 60s.

After an impressive campaign at the Flumserberg Ladies Open last week, where she finished at the tied-fourth position, Malik was hoping to continue her good run coming into the Ladies European Tour event at the Golfpark Holzhausern.

But the table has turned for the Indian as she manages to hit only three birdies in two rounds to card an aggregate score of four-over 148 (71+77). She was 81st when the cut was made on Friday.

Meanwhile, her compatriot Diksha Dagar had a poor tournament. Her two-round score of 23-over 167 (87+80) was way off the cut mark.
