Review: TaylorMade HI-Toe 2 Wedge

When we decide to purchase a new club, our priority remains to buy a specific club that fulfills all of our requirements, but sadly, some flaws exist in most branded items as well. But, the new wedge from TaylorMade looks like a complete package that is said to be the most tour-authentic wedge they've ever made.  

TaylorMade's newest golf wedge, the Hi-Toe 2 Raw model, features a versatile shape with a unique face designed to provide better spin as it ages and oxidizes.

Raw, which we first saw in the Milled Grind 2 wedges, is designed to rust over time to preserve consistent spin throughout the life of the wedge.

Design & Feel

The Hi-Toe Raw features a ZTP Raw Groove Design, which is engineered for an extra greenside spin expressly in wet conditions, with sharper, narrower, and deeper grooves in the face.

TaylorMade has incorporated a new Thick-Thin design to raise the CG. The thinner topline, along with additional mass redistributed nearer to the top of the spine, optimizes both the flight and feel to give you that feeling of total control when faced with a tricky up-and-down.

The strike feels very pure on full-length shots, but you also get a responsive feel from short chips around the green.

Performance

In terms of performance, I can say that these wedges are easy to use and are suitable for nearly all golfers.

The HI-Toe 2 wedges are a remarkably well-finished golf club which delivers total performance with premium shapes, striking finishes, great feel, spin, and versatility.

Wedges target all golfers from Tour players to mid-handicapper golfers with loft and groove patterns to compliment different course conditions, situations, and a golfer’s angle of attack.

When you play with TaylorMade HI-Toe, you will witness a soft and satisfying feel that no other wedge can match. The shape and styling are pretty clean and uncomplicated, and the brushed Platinum Chrome finish complements them nicely.
