Manu Gandas wins Delhi-NCR Open by four shots

Manu Gandas carded a spectacular four-under 68 on the final day to win the Delhi-NCR Open by four shots.

Gandas, who won his first PGTI title in September of last year, has been playing consistently since then and claimed his second PGTI title with a total score of 19-under 269 on Friday.

Md Zamal Hossain of Bangladesh continued his steady run on the final day as well, and after carding twelve- under 276 in four days, he finished in solo second place.

Amardeep Malik, the overnight joint-leader, lost his track on the final day and posted a disappointing three- over 75 to finish his run at solo-third place.

The 36-year-old Malik fired an eagle on the first hole but tumbled after that and witnessed five bogeys and a single birdie to lose the chance of winning the event.

The young Gandas, who started his final day at 15-under 201, smashed five birdies against a single bogey to left everyone far behind and secured a comfortable victory.

PGTI’s last tournament winner Yuvraj Singh Sandhu had a decent run at Noida golf course, as in his four rounds he recorded even-par 288 and finished his run at tied-33rd place.

Experienced Mari Muthu R and Mithun Perera of Sri Lanka finished at a joint-fifth place with matching scores of nine-under 279.

Four golfers, including the promising golfer Kartik Sharma, finished tied-seventh.
