Keegan Bradley takes first-round lead at Valspar Championship

Keegan Bradley smashed a flawless 7-under 64 to grab the first-round lead at the Valspar Championship on Thursday.

The 34-year-old Bradley ran off four birdies over his last five holes, finishing with a 20-foot birdie putt on the 18th and a two-shot lead at the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort, Palm Harbor, USA.

“Basically zero stress the whole day,” Bradley said.

"I know that I’m going to have some bogeys and some stress coming. But as for today, I played so good and it feels good to go around a course like this and shoot that score.

“I’ll go back today and, doesn’t matter what I shoot, I got to go be a dad and play baseball and play golf in the backyard, which I look forward to,” said Bradley, who called his family his “good luck charm.”

Riviera winner Max Homa along with four others, took the joint second position a carding a brilliant 5-under in the first round of the $6,900,000 event.

Birthday Boy Justin Thomas opened with an eagle and coming inches away from a hole-in-one, but he lost touch on the back nine and shot 69 to be placed at Tied-28th position.

World No.1 Dustin Johnson shoots an even-par 71 to find T-66th place at the end of day 1.
