Gaganjeet Bhullar signs off at tied-5th spot, Sihwan Kim wins International Series Thailand

Gaganjeet Bhullar fired a breathtaking 8-under 64 in the final round to end his International Series Thailand’s run at the tied-5th position.

Bhullar, an eight-time Asian Tour winner, who started with a strong 5-under 67, followed by successive 3-under 69s, and then showed his class on Black Mountain Golf Club in the final round to finish in the top-5.

Sihwan Kim won International Series Thailand by two strokes on Sunday, ending his long wait for an Asian Tour victory.

Kim, who started the final day three shots off the lead, shot eleven birdies against two bogeys to edge past Phachara Khongwatmai and win his maiden title on the Asian Tour.

Phachara Khongwatmai of Thailand, even after shooting a 4-under 68 ended as runner-up as Sihwan Kim’smagical 63 handed Kim all the attention on the final day.

Bhullar had a very confidence-boosting event as in his four-day journey at Black Mountain; he smashed twenty-one birdies against just two bogeys to complete his run at 19-under 269.

The other Indian, Karandeep Kochhar, who witnessed three brilliant days at the office, lost his momentum on the final day to slip from overnight tied-2nd to finish at tied-16th.

Kochhar, who came into International Series Thailand with a PGTI victory under his belt, wowed everyone with a round of 65-68-66, but an even-par 72 in the final round ended his chances of claiming his first Asian Tour victory.

Among the other Indians, Honey Baisoya and Ajeetesh, after carding a matching 15-under 273 in four days, shared 32nd. Aman Raj, with rounds of 67-7-67-70, ended at tied-42nd.Viraj Madappa finished his journey at tied-59th, while Chikkarangappa was at tied-64th.
