Anirban Lahiri shoots second straight 69, lies T-36 at The Northern Trust

Anirban Lahiri saw a slight disappointment on Friday after carding 2-under 69 in the second round of the Northern Trust, the first event of the playoff system for the FedEx Cup.

Lahiri, who was at the tied-15th position after the first day, had dropped to 36th following the second round at Liberty National Golf Course.

The 34-year-old Lahiri made four birdies against two bogeys and now is eight shots behind the leader Jon Rahm.

The first round joint leader Jon Rahm produced another solid round of 4-under 67 to hold the lead heading into weekend action.

Rahm had a flawless second round, and he made birdies on the fourth, sixth, seventh and thirteenth holes to maintain his top position at the halfway stage.

Tony Finau was a further shot back at solo second position.

Justin Thomas, who began his day as the co-leader, shot 2-under 69 to drop to the tied-3rd position.

Phil Mickelson leads the list of those who missed the cut.

Other notable players who did not make the cut include Dustin Johnson, Collin Morikawa, Adam Scott, Bubba Watson, Tyrell Hatton, Jason Day, Kevin Kisner, to name a few.
