Not so great second and a decent to better third round pulled Indian golfer’s way too behind to secure a medal in Tokyo Olympics.
Anirban Lahiri, who finished his round-1 at the tied-8th position, shot 1-over in the second round to slip from overnight 8th to tied-20 in the 60 players men’s competition.
Lahiri finished his third-day campaign at 3-under 68, a birdie on 7th and an eagle on the 8th helped him secure a place most likely inside top-30. He still needed a super solid final round Tomorrow to claim the medal.
Whereas Udayan was in struggling mode since the beginning of the event, the mighty man was placed tied-60 (last) after carding a dreary 5-over 76 in the first round, though he scored a decent to better 3-under-68 on the second day, which was not enough to give a place inside top-20 at least.
Mane had a rollercoaster round on the third day as well, carding 1-under 70 to finish at tied-55 place in the leaderboard, indicating an end of the road for Mane in Olympics.Posted on: 2021 Jul 31 Sat
