Seher Atwal takes first-round lead in 15th leg of Hero WPGT

The young and talented Seher Atwal showed some great game on the first day of the 15th leg of Hero WPGT to grab a one-stroke lead over veteran golfer Neha Tripathi.

The Delhi-based golfer had two birdies against two bogeys and a double-bogey in her opening round at the historic Royal Calcutta Golf Club, Kolkata.

Neha, who has not won since the 1st leg in 2019, played a steady first round as she displayed some positive signs of eager to win attitude and grabbed solo second position at the Rs. 7 Lakh prize money event.

16-time WPGT champion Neha Tripathi started her campaign with two birdies and three bogeys on the front-nine, followed by three more bogeys on the back-nine going into the second round.

Last week’s winner Ridhima Dilawari took the third spot after shooting 5-over 77 in the first round of the season-ending event.

Amateur Smriti Bhargav maintained her steady play once again and was the leading amateur after a round of six-over 78 to be placed tied-4th alongside seasoned Lakhmehar Padresi and two others.

Jyotsana Singh and Rhea Purvi S were further shot back at the tied-8th position.

While a pack of five golfers, including runner-up of the last week's event Saaniya Sharma, were at tied-10th spot.
