Tvesa Malik wards off Jahanvi’s challenge to win 6th leg of Hero WPGT

Tvesa Malik has finally ended her 18 months drought for a Women’s Professional Golf Tour title with victory at the 6th leg of Hero WPGT on Friday.
Malik outlasted Jahanvi Bakshi in a nail-biting final round to grab her 10th WPGT title at the Rambagh Golf Club, Jaipur.
Tvesa carded rounds of (71,66,72) and finished at 1-under 209 to outduels Jahanvi Bakshi, who managed to score 1-over 211 in three days. Tvesa's last win was in September 2019, while Jahanvi won last week.
"The game has been good, and I have been feeling good about my game so far this year. Every week has felt like it should have been better and it had the potential to be a lot better. I feel like it's been games in trending in the right direction," Tvesa said.
"I still think there's a long way to go for my putting. I would have liked to win on a better note. I think it was a tricky day out there, not just for me but for everybody."
Tvesa Malik, the overnight leader by 3 three shots, was at one stage lost her momentum and was 2-over after the first four holes, but the talented youngster bounced back with a birdie on 17th as the leaders started on the back nine.
Jahanvi Bakshi gave Tvesa a minor headache as she came within a shot of the leader with birdies on the 1st and 2nd.
Tvesa and Jahanvi bogeyed the Par-4 3rd hole and the gap of one stayed as both players parred from 4th to 7th. When Jahanvi bogeyed the Par-5 8th, Tvesa pulled two ahead with a par. A par from both on the 9th, the closing hole, ended the race in Tvesa’s favor.
The sister of fifth leg champion Hitaashee Bakshi (71) finished her campaign at fourth position, while the Order of Merit leader Amandeep Drall (72) secured fifth place.
