Tiger Woods drops outside of top 100 golf players in latest rankings
Tiger Woods has dropped outside of the top 100 golf players for the first time in more than three years.
The 45-year-old Woods, who met with a tragic car accident earlier this year, fell out of the top 100 in the new men's standings released on Monday, dropping to No. 103.
The 15-time major champion hasn't competed since the Masters last year, where he tied for 38th and rose to No. 33 in the world.
The last time big cat was ranked outside the top 100 was in March 2018.
George Savaricas, a contributor at Golf Channel, provided an update on Wood’s health on Twitter. He wrote, “hearing TW at the point in the healing process where the next benchmark is for blood circulation to get back to normal in his injured right foot. Once this happens, recovery timelines will fall into place, currently in “wait and see” mode.”
The 45-year-old once held the world number one ranking for a record 683 weeks.
Tiger’s World Rankings slide could continue in the coming weeks. He’s not expected to return to the PGA Tour soon as he is still recovering from serious back surgery and injuries.
