The TaylorMade 2017 NEW M1 Driver

There’s no doubt that the 2016 version of the M1 driver was an instant hit. With all sort of new technologies, players from all skill sets saw better, more consistent results. Still, if you’re not trying to continue to push the envelope on key aspects of a golfers’ game, like distance, forgiveness, feel, etc., then you’re lagging behind. With that, TaylorMade introduces the 2017 M1 driver.
The 2017 M1 driver is a notch above in every aspect as compared to its predecessor. The design of the driver were reworked to deliver more distance, forgiveness, and customization to all players and skill sets alike. Here are some of the key improvements.
The T-Track System
The first change is to the adjustable track system on the sole of the TaylorMade 2017 M1 driver, which has been extended with a longer rear track. The new T-Track has 27 grams of moveable weight, more than the 2016 M1 driver. According to TaylorMade, the weight change allows for 64% more movement of the center of gravity location from front-to-back compared to the 2016 M1. The increase in movable weight increases the club’s forgiveness and provides options for achieving a more consistent ball flight.
More Carbon Fiber
Pushing the envelope of multi-material construction club heads, TaylorMade uses more carbon fiber in conjunction with the titanium frame. The new incarnation will have 43% more carbon fiber than the 2016 M1. The 2017 M1 driver includes a 6-layer carbon crown and strategically placed carbon toe panels on the sole, freeing up more weight and helping lower the CG location.
New Loft Sleeve
Finally, the new, lightweight adjustable lot-sleeve continues the saving of weight in the club. The loft sleeve still supports 12 adjustable settings to tune your loft and face angle needs.
Given the big shoes it has to fill, the TaylorMade 2017 M1 driver looks to be up to the task.
