Shubhankar Sharma makes modest start in England, lies t-31 after first round of Cazoo Classic

The 25-year-old Indian golfer Sharma, who is regular on European Tour and currently is in great form, claimed tied-31st place after the first round game at the London golf course.

Sharma smashed six birdies against four bogeys to sit alongside top golfers at the European Tour's €1,250,000 prize money event.

After having a string of mixed outcomes, the 2018 Asian Tour Order of Merit champion is looking to break his winless skid soon.

He has two European Tour wins under his belt and is looking to add to his trophy cabinet. The last European Tour event he won was at Malaysia in Maybank Championship in 2018.

Veteran Richard Bland took the honour of leading the event on the first day after carding a splendid 7-under 65.

The 48-year-old Bland played a flawless round to grab a one-shot lead heading into the second day.

The other Indian golfers playing in the event witnessed a rough start, as all four struggled to find a place inside top-80 after the first round campaign.

Gaganjeet Bhullar was placed at tied-85 after a 1-over par score, whereas SSP Chawrasia, Shiv Kapur, and Ajeetesh Sandhu were sitting outside the gate of the top 100 players.
