Paul Casey wins the Porsche European Open 2019

Paul Casey has won his first European Tour title in five years after an exciting game of golf on this Sunday.

England’s Casey began the final round of the European Open 2019 with one shot behind the leaderboard toppers Robert MacIntyre and Ritthammer. But Casey played an impeccable 4th round with six birdies and not a single bogey to win his 14th European Tour title.

Casey shared the lead at 12 under par with MacIntyre, Wiesberger, and Ritthammer, with three holes remaining during an enthralling finale at Green Eagle Golf courses, Germany.

A four-time Ryder Cup player shot a six-under 66 in the final round and finished his campaign at a -14 under 274. Whereas Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre, German’s Bernd Ritthammer and Austria’s Matthias Schwab, finished at Tied-2nd position with a total score of -13 under 275.

It was Casey’s first European Tour title. Since he won the KLM Open back in 2014, a second victory this year for England’s golfing star, who lifted the trophy at the Valspar Championship on the U. S PGA Tour earlier (March -19) this year.

With this incredible win, Casey has now become the third successive English player to win the tournament following the 2017 and 2018 winners Jordan Smith and Richard McEvoy.
