Patrick Cantlay claims 3rd PGA Tour title after carding -7 final-round at the ZoZo Championship

Patrick Cantlay overshadows his opponents on the final day of the 2020 ZoZo Championship and claims the title at the Sherwood Country Club, California.
It was a tough fight between the modern-day superstars of the game of golf, where all 3 (Patrick Cantlay, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas) played exceptionally to clinch the 2020 ZoZo Championship title.
But, it was the world No. 9 Cantlay who turned out to be a champion after a tough day with the competitors.
The 28-year-old Cantlay poured in more than 110 feet of putts on Sunday in carding nine birdies, which helps him to shot a 7-under 65 and gives him a key to go past overnight leader Justin Thomas and Jon Rahm, who tied for second, for his third PGA Tour title.

The World No. 2 Rahm and the world No. 3 Thomas tied for second, one stroke behind of Cantlay, who finished 23-under par in the prestigious PGA Tour event.
“To play the par 5s in 1 under is just unacceptable if you’re trying to win a golf tournament,” Thomas said. “I fought like hell, I fought as hard as I could, I just didn’t have my best stuff.”
The defending champion Tiger Woods was unable to make his mark in this year’s ZoZo, finishing tied for 72nd in the field of 77. He was quite unhappy with the way he played Sherwood’s five par-5 holes.
“I played the par fives awful,” Woods said. “This is one of the golf courses you have to take advantage of all the par fives. They’re all reachable, and I did not do that well this week.

“I was able to win one of the tournaments Tiger won last year,” he said, “so now I’m just going to go try and win the other event that Tiger won last year.”
