Lakhmehar Pardesi holds off Jahanvi to grab maiden title at Hero WPGT

Lakhmehar Pardesi of Chandigarh won her maiden WPGT championship by a single shot after carding 2-over 74 in the final round of the ninth leg of Hero WPGT.

Jahanvi Bakshi, who is in good form this season, missed the chance to grab her third WPGT title and finished just a shot off to secure the second position at the Noida Golf Course.

Amateur Avani Prashanth posted the best round of the day at even-par 72 and once again emerged as the top amateur with the tied-third finish.

The game between Lakhmehar and Jahanvi was a nail-biting one till the 16th hole; the 2-time winner this season, Jahanvi, bogeyed the 17th, while Lakhmehar made the par putt to grab a one-shot advantage going into the final hole.

On the 18th hole, Jahanvi smashed it for par putt, that left Lakhmehar needing to hole the 8-footer for an outright victory or go into a play-off, and the 21-year-old parred the final to claim her first title on WPG Tour.
