Lahiri settles on T-6 in PGA Wells Fargo Championship

Two late bogeys finished Anirban Lahiri's hopes for the first PGA Tour victory. The 34-year-old Lahiri shot 68-68-70-71 (3-under 277) at Wells Fargo Championship in Maryland, near Washington DC. He ended five shots behind the winner, who was at 8-under 272. He started the final round with four shots behind but didn't make it up for front nine due to unfavorable conditions. Two birdies on 10 and 12 took him to 5-under and two back to back bogeys on Hole No. 15 and 16 were the final nail in the coffin.

“To be in contention on Sunday was (the) goal at the start of the week, so I can definitely look back and say I have accomplished the goal I had at the beginning of the week. I would have liked to finish it better and that’s definitely a work in progress. I feel like I’m playing well enough to at least put myself consistently in this situation. I’m proud of the way I handled everything that came my way” said Anirban.

We hope that Anirban maintains this great form and is able to secure his maiden PGA tour title this season.
