Khalin Joshi wins Jaipur Open by a single shot

The calm and composed Khalin Joshi carded a 5-under 67 in the final round to grab the prestigious Jaipur Open trophy by a single shot.

The 25-year-old Joshi, who made a dramatic three-putt from four feet on the last hole to end the tournament with a bogey, won by one shot as he totalled 22-under 258 for the week.

Overnight leader M Dharma had a decent final round in which he was only able to score an even-par to finish one shot off the winner at the 40 Lakh event.

Joshi, who won his last title at Panasonic Open in 2018, ended his 3-year long winless drought to fetch his 5th PGTI title at the Rambagh Golf Club, Jaipur.

Sunit Chowrasia (64) of Kolkata and Harendra Gupta (65) of Chandigarh took tied third place at 20-under 260. Chowrasia’s round featured seven birdies and a bogey, while Gupta had an eagle, four birdies and a bogey.

Yuvraj Singh Sandhu produced the best round of the tournament, a 10-under 60, to claim tied seventh place at 18-under 262. Yuvraj sank an eagle on the 18th from five feet and also made nine birdies and a bogey during his round.

Sachin Baisoya (64) and PGTI’s last event winner Viraj Madappa (65); took tied fifth place at 19-under 261.

Ajay Baisoya made a hole-in-one on the sixth during his final round of 67. Baisoya, who made another eagle on the 17th, signed off with a total of 14-under 266 to secure tied 14th place.

Jaipur’s Hemendra Choudhary (66-70-68-72), playing at his home course, finished tied 39th at four-under 276.
