Delhi-NCR Open Golf Championship begins today

PGTI and Prometheus School, Noida, will be jointly staging the Prometheus School Presents Delhi-NCR Open Golf Championship 2021.

The prestigious tournament is scheduled to be played at the scenic Golden Greens Golf Club in Gurugram from March 16th – 19th, 2021, and the Pro-Am event will be staged on March 20.  The 10th event of the 2020-21 PGTI season, carries a prize purse of Rs. 30 lakh.

The third edition of the Delhi-NCR Open Golf Championship is supported by Prometheus School, Noida, which is the Presenting Partner and Gujarat Tourism which is the Associate Partner for the event.

Prometheus School, founded in 2019, is a Cambridge IGSCE and candidate school for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme and Middle Years Programme and is pursuing authorization as an IB World School.

 Top names in the field include Rashid Khan, Udayan Mane, Chikkarangappa, Rahil Gangjee, Ajeetesh Sandhu, Viraj Madappa, Khalin Joshi, and Karandeep Kochhar.

At today’s press conference, Mr. Uttam Singh Mundy, CEO, PGTI, announced the induction of Indian cricket legend Mr. Kapil Dev as a Board Member of the PGTI.

Mr. Kapil Dev said, “I thank both the Presenting Partner Prometheus School and Associate Partner Gujarat Tourism for supporting the Delhi-NCR Open Golf Championship 2021. As a Board Member of the PGTI, I will try my best to promote Indian professional golf. All sports need promotion and since I play golf I'm delighted to be involved with it. We need a lot of support from corporate and the media to help give a further boost to professional golf in India.”

Mr. Jeev Milkha Singh said, “I'm glad to hear that even during these testing times, the PGTI is hosting events such as the Delhi-NCR Open Golf Championship which is presented by Prometheus School with Gujarat Tourism as the Associate Partner.
