Anirban Lahiri shoots solid 69, lies tied-46th at Rocket Mortgage Classic

Anirban Lahiri carded a solid 3-under 69 in the second round of Rocket Mortgage Classic to climb up in the leaderboard at the Detroit Golf club, Michigan.

The 34-year-old Lahiri started his day two with a birdie-par-birdie-bogey to consecutive pars till nine holes. Later he added two more birdies in the final nine holes to grab a tied-46th spot at the halfway stage.

Lahiri is looking well on the course and putting up good scores, which is a good sign for him and India, as he is all set to represent team India in Olympics this month alongwith Udayan Mane and Aditi Ashok.

Joaquin Niemann and Tom Lewis once again took the share of the lead after carding another matching 3-under 69 after the 36 holes play at the PGA Tour event.

Both golfers shot 7-under in the opening round and with 3-under on day two, they have a one-stroke lead heading into the weekend.


Indian Golfers shine on day two of Irish Open

A solid comeback by Shubhankar Sharma and a rock-hard second round of Gaganjeet Bhullar put both the Indian golfers inside top-50 at the Irish Open golf tournament.

Shubhankar Sharma, who started with an over-par first round, played a brilliant game of golf on the second day and fired 5-under to secure a berth for weekend action.

Shubhankar carded five birdies, an eagle, and two bogeys to claim a respectable place in the European Tour's Irish Open.

Gaganjeet Bhullar, who scored a modest 1-under in the first 18 holes, smashed an even better 4-under on day two to secure tied-34th position.

The round-one leader, Lucas Herbert, shot 5-under 67 to hold his top spot heading into the weekend.
