Anirban Lahiri posts bogey-free 67 in second round of The American Express

Anirban Lahiri carded a superb 5-under 67 in the second round of The American Express to climb up the leaderboard on Friday.
Lahiri, who started his campaign with an impressive 3-under, fired an even better 5-under on the second day to claim a tied-32th position at the midway stage of the PGA Tour event.
One of the highest-ranked Indian golfers in th3 world, Lahiri, made five birdies in his bogey-free round to capture much-needed confidence ahead of the weekend action.
The overnight leader Patrick Cantlay added 4-under 68 to his opening 10-under 62 to remain the leader at the PGA Tour’s $7,600,000 prize money event.

2021 FedEx Cup winner Cantlay after carding another solid, maintained his streak of producing back-to-back rounds in the 60s (21).
Tom Hoge moved up by three positions on the second day with a 66, putting him in contention heading into the weekend.
The day’s best round belonged to 2021 Masters runner-up Will Zalatoris, who carded a blistering 11-under 61 to post his career lowest round and climb to tied-3rd from overnight 93. Joining him at third were Lanto Griifin, Greyson Sigg, Cameron Young and Joseph Bramlett.
Phil Mickelson, who scored a terrible 78 in the first round, produced a respectable 1-over 73 on Friday but still in last place on the leaderboard in the field of 156 golfers.
