Anirban Lahiri misses cut at Charles Schwab Challenge

Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri missed yet another cut as his lean patch continued into the Charles Schwab Challenge at the Colonial golf course on Friday.
After carding a disastrous 7-over 77 in the first round, Lahiri shot a modest 2-over 72 in the second, but it was not enough to hang around for weekend action as he missed the cut by eight shots at the PGA Tour event.
It was his eighth missed cut in fifteen starts on the 2020-21 PGA Tour season; his best performance in the current season was tied-5th at the Texas Open.
The 33-year-old is still seeking his maiden win on the PGA Tour as his last worldwide title was at home in the Hero Indian Open in 2015.

Jordan Spieth added a brilliant 4-under 66 to move to 11-under par and one stroke ahead of Jason Kokrak, who set the pace on Friday with a round of 65.
Sergio Garcia, who was tied for the lead after the first round, posted a moderate 1-under 69 to level for third place with Sebastian Munoz (65) and Patton Kizzire (65) at eight under par.
Phil Mickelson, who won the PGA Championship last week, missed the cut by one stroke.
Sunjae Im, Patrick Reed, Lee Westwood, Cameron Champ, and Henrik Stenson were among the notables who did not make the Charles Schwab Challenge cut.
