Cameron Young, the overnight leader by two shots, had a rough day at work, as he only managed to card 2-over 73 to slip down from top position to tied-3rd place.

The 34-year-old Lahiri made a modest start to his second round with par-birdie-par, but then struck three bogeys in the remaining six holes on front-nine.

He started his last nine holes with three straight pars and gained some confidence with two consecutive birdies on the 13th and 14th holes, but he made another bogey on the par-5 15th hole and finished the day with par-bogey-par for a 2-over 73.

Pre-tournament favourite Collin Morikawa produced a second straight 1-under 70 to be at tied-34th place going into the weekend.

Former World No.1 and 2020 Masters Winner Dustin Johnson had a not pleasant event and with scores of 1-over 72 and even-par 71, he missed the cut by one shot.

Cameron Smith, Russell Henley, Lanto Griffin, Matt Fitzpatrick, J.J Spaun, Tom Hoge, Luke List, Garrick Higgo, Ryan Brehm, and Zach Johnson were among the notables who failed to make the cut.
