Anirban Lahiri all set to welcome 2022 with good start at American Express

Ace Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri would look to make a solid start to the year when he tees off at the American Express, the third event of 2022 on the PGA Tour, starting today.
The Indian star arrives at the La Quinta Country Club in California after a break at home following a series of decent results in the fall.
Lahiri, who plays most of his game at the PGA Tour, which is one of the most prominent professional golf tours in the world, had made ten cuts in his 24 PGA Tour appearances last year. He had two top-5 finishes, with a tied-3rd finish at the Barbasol Championship marked as his best performance in the 2021 calendar year.
After somewhat mixed results, the 18-time professional event champion is hoping to end his winless streak when he tees off at the challenging La Quinta Country Club on Thursday.

In 2015, he won the Hero Indian Open at home, which was his last significant victory. His last two wins came in the span of three weeks in 2015 when he won the Malaysia Open and the Hero Indian Open.
Anirban will play his first-round alongside 7-time PGA Tour champion Russell Knox.
The tournament will feature some of the top international stars such as Phil Mickelson, Rickie Fowler, Tony Finau, Sungjae Im, Patrick Reed, Jon Rahm and Patrick Cantlay, to name a few.
World No.1 Jon Rahm and 2021 FedEx Cup winner Patrick Cantlay are co-favourites to win the tournament.
The event will be played at three different courses, and players will play three tracks once each on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
The cut will be applied after three rounds, dropping the field to the top 65 pros and ties who advance to the final round at PGA West's Stadium Course.
