Aditi Ashok starts with a modest 70, lies T-43 at LA Open

Aditi Ashok carded a modest 1-under 70 in the first round to lie tied 43rd in the Hugel-Air Premia LA Open.
Jessica Korda, who is considered a strong competitor on any course, proved so once again and emerged as the first-round leader after smashing a brilliant 7-under 64 at the Wilshire Country Club, Los Angeles.
Moriya Jutanugam, who birdied 10 of her last 13 to take the early lead with a solid 6-under 65, was a further stroke back after the 18 holes and shared the second place with Hong-Kong’s Tiffany Chan.
The 2016 Rio Olympian, Aditi Ashok, had five birdies against four bogeys in her modest first round of 70 at the $1,500,000 event.
Aditi, who was 1-over through the first nine, birdied 13th, 14th, and 16th but bogeyed 17th to finish 1-under 70 at the end of day 1.

Jessica Korda birdied three of the final four holes for a 7-under 64 and a one-stroke lead. She had eight birdies and a bogey at Wilshire Country Club to match the tournament scoring record set by Megan Khang and Annie Park in 2019.
World No.1 Jin Young Ko shot 4-under 67 to take T-9 spot after the first round.
Lydia Ko opened with a 78, four days after winning the Lotte Championship in Hawaii at 28-under 260.
