Aditi Ashok shoots even-par 72 in round one of Drive on Championship

Aditi Ashok started her Drive on Championship with a decent even-par 72 to lie tied-63 after the first round on Thursday.

The 2-time LET champion Aditi, who made a solid start of the year at last week’s Gainbridge LPGA, where she finished 13th, mixed three birdies with three bogeys to end her day one at a decent spot at the challenging
Crown Colony Golf & Country Club in Fort Myers, Florida.

Aditi, who is searching for her first win on the LPGA, currently is in good form and confident as she just got the sponsorship from Hyundai and Radisson following a promising last season at the LPGA and a good show at
Tokyo Olympics.

World No.1 and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Nelly Korda was also at tied-63rd with an even-par 72.

Korda, who had a splendid last year in which she claimed four LPGA titles, including one major -PGA, one gold medal and ended the 2020-21 season as the World No.1 female golfer in the world, had a decent start at last week’s Gainbridge event as well, where she had finished at tied-20th with 2-under 286 tournament score.

In this event as well, Korda started on a decent note, and after first the round, she was tied-63 with 21 others.

Marina Alex and Nasa Hataoka each carded electrifying 7-under 65 to share the first-round lead at the 54-hole competition event.

Three golfers, including 2021 Ana Inspiration winner Patty Tavatanakit, were at tied-3rd with matching scores of 6-under 66.

The defending champion Austin Ernst shot 2-under 70 to sit at tied-34th alongside 16 others.
