Aditi Ashok shoots 9-under in final round, finishes T-15 at Drive on Championship.

Aditi Ashok left all amazed with her impressive round of 9-under 63 on Saturday at the Drive on Championship.

Aditi, the lone Indian golfer in the field, began her journey with a decent 72, followed by a modest 71 in the second round to secure the last qualifying slot heading into the third round, and then a magnificent bogey-free 9-under 63 on the last day to finish tied-15th.

The highest-ranked Indian golfer in the world, Aditi, who smashed six birdies against five bogeys in the first two rounds turned the tables on the last day as she smashed nine birdies without any errors in her whole round to finish inside top-15 and regain much-needed confidence for the upcoming events.

Aditi’s brilliant round of 9-under 63 on the final day, written down as her career-best round on the competitive LPGA Tour.

Leona Maguire

Ireland’s Leona Maguire continued her solid run at Crown Colony Golf & Country Club in Florida to claim her maiden LPGA Tour title.

After knocking on victory doors many times in 2021, Maguire finally claimed her first victory after carding 66, 65, and 67 in three days respectively to win Drive on Championship by three strokes.

The veteran Lexi Thompson also had a great round of 7-under 65, but that wasn’t enough to earn Florida resident her 12th LPGA Tour victory. Thompson finished the tournament with an overall score of 15-under 201 to finish solo second.

World No.132 Sarah Schmelzel was a further shot back and completed her run at lone third position in the 54 holes LPGA event.
