Aditi Ashok and Pajaree Anannaukarn among the four teams tied for lead at Dow GLBI

India’s Aditi Ashok and Pajaree Anannaukarn of Thailand fired a solid 5-under 65 to join a four-way tie at the top of the leaderboard after the first round of the Dow great lakes bay invitational.

Playing as a team, Aditi and Anannaukarn posted a bogey-free round of 65 with the help of five birdies to reach the top spot at the Midland Country Club, Midland, Texas.

Joining them at the top were defending champions Cydney Clanton of the US and her partner Jasmine Suwannapura of Thailand, also on five under.

Nelly Korda

The world No. 1 Nelly Korda and her sister Jessica Korda were also on five-under along with the team of Jillian Hollis and Lauren Stephenson.

Wichanee Meechai and Pavarisa Yoktuan of Thailand were one shot back at four under and were tied for second with Spain's Carlota Ciganda and England's Mel Reid.

The unique tournament, which was launched in 2019 but cancelled last year because of COVID-19, follows an alternate shot or foursome format in the first and third rounds and the better ball, or fourball, in the second and last round.
