The Preview: PGTI Players Championship 2021

Professional Golf Tour of India will be staging the PGTI Players Championship 2021 Presented by Govt. of Haryana from September 8 – 11, 2021. 

The Players Championship, which begins on September 8th at the Panchkula Golf Club, will be the twelfth event of the 2020-21 PGTI season. 

Last week, PGTI resumed the events after its forced break of about five months due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the consequent lockdown.

The event will include notable Indian players such as Rashid Khan, Udayan Mane, Karandeep Kochhar, Khalin Joshi, Chikkarangappa, and Aadil Bedi, to mention a few.


Local Favourites


The Tricity duo of Karandeep Kochhar and Akshay Sharma will be leading the local challenge. Akshay had won the last PGTI Players Championship event staged in the PGC in November last year.


Karandeep Kochhar - finished runner-up at Golconda Masters last week, ended 2020 Players Championship also as a runner-up. 

Rashid Khan - Most prolific Indian golfer with 11 professional wins under his belt. 

Chikkarangappa - Most experienced and hot favourite to win the event.

Udayan Mane - The 2020 Tokyo Olympian is a tough competitor on any course.

Khalin H Joshi - finished fourth last week at the Golconda Masters.

Tournament Winners


The Players Championship at Panchkula Golf Club was won in 2015 by N Thangaraja, in 2019 by Mukesh Kumar, and last year by Akshay Sharma.
