The Royal Troon has often delivered strange winners and Henrik Stenson , the winner of the Open 2016, is the first ever from a Scandinavian nation to receive the Claret Jug. The Swede, 40, birdied four of his final five holes to win his first major with an Open Championship record score of 20 under par at Royal Troon to defeat Phil Mickelson. Stenson received a cheque of 1.175 million pounds ($1.55 million).
