Gaganjeet Bhullar shoots two-under in opening round, lies T-51 at Khaimah Classic

Gaganjeet Bhullar made a decent start with a 2-under 70 in the opening round of the Khaimah Classic on Thursday.

Playing in the field of 132 players, Bhullar led the Indian challenge and started his journey on a decent note to be placed tied-51 after 18 holes at the Al Hamra Golf Club in Al Hamra, UAE.

Bhullar had one birdie against one bogey in the first nine holes. He made seven consecutive pars on the back nine and finished with two back-to-back birdies for a 2-under 70.

Fifteen other players carded 2-under on day one and were sharing tied-51 spot alongside India’s Bhullar.

New Zealand’s Ryan Fox grabbed the first-round lead after carding a splendid 9–under 63 at the DP World Tour US$ 2,000,000 prize money event.

Bhullar, who tested positive for COVID-19 last month, informed the media that he is fine now and intends to get some momentum to win an international tournament soon

The 33-year-old Bhullar currently has one European and nine Asian Tour titles under his belt, and now he is all charged up to add some more to his bag of achievements.

.Arjun Gupta, the second Indian in the field, finished day one in a tie for 84th place with an even-par 72.
