Diksha Dagar secures Olympics berth after South Africa’s Paula Reto

Indian golfer Diksha Dagar has made it to the Tokyo Olympics following the late withdrawal of South African golfer Paula Reto and Austria's refusal to reallocate its golfer Sarah Schober, The International Golf Federation thus hands over that vacant spot to in-form Diksha Dagar. After the confirmation from IGF, Diksha is all set to join India’s top-ranked women golfer Aditi Ashok to represent India at the summer games. Diksha is currently in great form as she had won the Aramco Team series three weeks ago, and in the next event, she finished the Gant Ladies Open at a solid tied-4th position. The 20-year-old has previously won a silver medal in the 2017 summer deaf Olympics as well. Even though she is currently in Ireland for a Ladies European Tour event, the Indian Golf Union has stated that she will arrive in Tokyo on schedule. The women’s Olympic golf event is scheduled to begin on August 4th at the Kasumigaseki Country Club.

Even though she is currently in Ireland for a Ladies European Tour event, the Indian Golf Union has affirmed that she will reach Tokyo on time.

"Rest assured we will spare no effort to get her to Tokyo. Let us all hope for the best. Jai Hind," Union said while replying to someone on Twitter.

The women’s Olympic golf event is scheduled to begin on August 4th at the Kasumigaseki Country Club.
