Anirban Lahiri finishes tied-25th at palmetto Championship

Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri carded 4-under 67 in the final round to finish tied-25th at the Palmetto Championship on Sunday.

Lahiri (69,73,70,67) ended with a total of 11-under 273.

The 33-year-old Lahiri made six birdies against two bogeys in his solid final round to finish his campaign inside top-25 in the star-studded PGA Tour event.

The tied-25th place was, however, far from satisfactory for the Indian playing his seventh season on the PGA Tour.

After a promising start to the new 2020-21 PGA Tour season late last year when he made all four cuts and had a Top-10 finish in the Dominican Republic, Lahiri has been somewhat patchy in his 12 starts in 2021, where he has made only four cuts, which include the fifth place in Texas Open.

Garrick Higgo

South-Africa’s Garrick Higgo won the Palmetto Championship after carding a decent 3-under 68 in the final round and secured his first victory on the PGA Tour.

Chesson Hadley alongwith, five others, finish one shot back off the leader Higgo at 10-under. Ryan Armour, who shot a fantastic 7-under in the final round, was tied for eighth place with David Lipsy (67) at 9-under 275.

The top-ranked golfer Dustin Johnson played a modest final round of 1-under 70 to finish at tied-10th position. Joining him there was Pat Perez (69) and Erik van Rooyen (68).
