All four Indians miss cut in Scandinavian Mixed

Tvesa, Diksha, Shubhankar and Ajeetesh to tee up today at Scandinavian mixed masters

Indian golfers failed to leave any mark in the unique Scandinavian Mixed tournament and missed the cut on Friday.

All four Indians - Tvesa Malik (70-73), Diksha Dagar (70-73), Shubhankar Sharma (70-72), and Ajeetesh Sandhu (72,70) - came up short in the second round as the cut came three-under 141, to make an early exit from the inaugural Scandinavian Mixed.

Tvesa Malik, Diksha Dagar, and Shubhankar Sharma, who started the tournament on two under par and tied for 56th place out of 156 golfers, lost their momentum on day two and posted even and over par scores to miss the cut at the €1,000,000 prize money event.

The fourth Indian, Ajeetesh Sandhu, who carded 72 on day one, shot an even-par in the second round, but it was not enough to hang around for weekend action as he missed the cut by one stroke.

The Swedish golfer Caroline Hedwall posted a brilliant round of 64 to become the first woman to hold the solo lead at the halfway stage of the Scandinavian Mixed.

Local favorite Hedwall smashed two eagles, five birdies, and a bogey at Vallda Golf and Country Club, Sweden.

She carded the lowest round of the week so far in round two to get to 13-under and lead the way by one from Dutchman Joost Luiten.

Hosted by Annika Sorenstam and Henrik Stenson, Scandinavian mixed is the first event on the European Tour featuring 78 men and 78 women competing on the same course for one trophy and one prize money pool.
