Aditi has an off day, misses cut at Women’s PGA Championship

Indian golfer Aditi Ashok missed yet another cut on the LPGA Tour after carding a stressful five-over-77 in the second round of the Women’s LPGA Championship.

After starting with a modest 73, Aditi needed a low round to make the halfway cut at the Atlanta Athletic Club, but she made a disastrous 77 to miss the weekend action.

On the second day of the prestigious LPGA event, the Indian golfer won’t find a single birdie but produced five bogeys and made an early exit from the event.

Aditi Ashok has made six cuts in eight events she played this year on the LPGA Tour. Her best finish was a tie for 23rd at the LPGA Drive on Championship in March.

Nelly Korda, LPGA’s last event champion, carded a solid nine-under-63 to claim the top spot.

The most-talked-about golfer nowadays had a brilliant day at the Atlanta Athletic Club as she made ten birdies against just one bogey to grab the lead at the $4,300,000 prize money event.

Lizette Salas, the first-round leader, shot another flawless five-under-67 to remain in contention.

Celine Boutier of France produced a second-round 64 that put her in a share of third with Alena Sharp (68) and Cydney Clanton (67).

Korda, who is seeking her first major title, became the fifth player in Women’s PGA history to shoot 63, joining Patty Sheehan (1984), Meg Mallon (1999), Kelly Shon (2017), and Sei Young Kim (2020).
